Back from the Future

So...I got back from Japan like a week ago and since that time I have been going in a continuous cycle of sleeping, playing Star Ocean 3, and working on homework. Mostly playing Star Ocean 3 though...oh Albel...*fangirl sigh of longing*

Anyway...OMG JAPAN WAS AWESOME!!! I may post pictures or something soon (read as: several months from now). I mean I was expecting it to be cool and all, but this was definitely the best trip I've ever been on (and I've been on a LOT of trips) cause the group of people I went with were so cool. Basically an army of 40 nerds storming Japan.

But seriously, I only knew one person in the group before I went on this trip, and I was the only one not in sequential or animation, but I actually made friends, which for me is kind of rare. ^_^; So that made it so much more fun! But anyway, lots of awesome food (mochi! tempura! how will I live without you?!!?), lots of awesome sights, lots of awesome shopping.

My fav part was probably Disney Sea (like Disney Land but by the water, get it?) - SO much cooler than an american disney park! They had this Indiana Jones ride that was SO fun! And the effects of their Tower of Terror ride were so neat - I heard people debating for the rest of the trip how they made this statue disappear in like less than a second. And they had not one but TWO steampunk sections of the park - a water-themed one called Port Discovery and a Jules Verne-themed one with a giant volcano that spits out fire every so often. So yeah, fun times.

Moving on...I bought so much stuff!!! I got all there figues at great prices - I found this one Ryuk figure for $4 that you would probably see for $30 at a con. I also got a steampunkish Zoro figure that I'm considering forcing a friend to cosplay. Yeah, you know who you are.

Also I found 2 new obsessions:
Mameshiba, a little bean dog thing: [link]
(these things are SO CUTE - watch all the videos you can! Mwahaha!! You can get these little guys as keychains, plushes, cell straps, etc, so I got a keychain and a gashapon that turned out to be a sort of fuzzy figurine. I think I'll just add it to the stuff on my desk.)

also, Kapibara-san (Mr. Capybara). If you don't know what a capybara is, google it. They're so cute! Here's a commercial for Kapibara-san: [link]
Also here's one that walks! I kind of want it but it's kind of creepy too: [link]

But yeah that's enough for now. I'll attempt to plow through my messages so bear with me. >_<

Ahhhhhh my hand is gonna fall off!!!! It's finals week at my school so I've been chained to my computer all weekend. Last night (well, morning) I had to pry my tablet pen out of my hand. >_<

BUT! I have the first 2 pages of Impending Doom done! I picked such a labor-intensive style...WHY?? Maybe it's just cause I'm not used to it and by the time I get to like p10 it'll go more smoothly.

Also I have a TON of work from this quarter I need to post. Art dump soon.

And Japan soon! Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!! I've been waiting to finish 358/2 Days so I can have something to do on the plane. 16 hour flight. Kill me know...or slip me some sleeping pills. Either one.

So....I am officially going to Japan on a school trip! YEEESSSSSS!!!

I've been a lot of places, but Japan is one of my Holy Grails of travel - I've always wanted to go there but just couldn't make it happen. Until NOW!! Man, it's expensive though. They offer like 1 scholarship for this trip so I BETTER get it!!

I can't wait to go CLOTHES SHOPPING AT A LOLITA STORE!!! AAAHHHHHH!! I'm gonna buy the best jacket ever. And the street food....man. I have no words.

I should probably brush up on my Japanese though...it's been a while.

I don't really know many people in the sequential dept though since it's only my minor...I hope some cool people are going. I mean, that's a long plane flight to sit by someone boring. But knowing this dept I don't think that'll be an issue. >_<

In other news, I've been able to use Impending Doom for a lot of assignments recently. Yay for getting things done!

So...been playing 358/2 Days. It's really fun and I gotta say...I don't hate Xion. Yet. But I'm weirded out cause...she looks like my mom. Seriously, it's been freaking me out. But but! You can play as any character! And they even have different weapons and limit breaks! Eeeeee!! Now if only I actually had KH-obsessed friends to play this game with me. >_<

Oh and...no spoilers plz.

Oh, and have you seen this pile of adorable?! [link]
Want get!!

Also, I am waiting on good news. It will come in the next few weeks...and it BETTER be GOOD NEWS!!!! OR ELSE!!!

Haha...it rained today and a kid in my backgrounds class had that katana umbrella I've been wanting. If you haven't seen it, it's just a basic black umbrella with a katana handle. It's on thinkgeek.com or something. I love stuff like that...I love my school. Also I saw a car the other day with the license plate "A ELRIC." I even took a picture of it. >.<

Oh, and I had to buy an air-soft assault rifle for one of my classes...did I mention I love my school?

Plans...I am making them

So AWA was fun. As you all probably know I had an artist's table this year which was an interesting experience. Saturday it was driving me crazy to be right next to the dealers room but stuck sitting at a table. >.<
Anyway, I didn't sell as much as I hoped, but what I did sell added up to more than I thought, if that makes any sense. It's also weird...I seemed so a lot more when I wasn't at my table. Seriously, one time I left for like five minutes to get a drink and when I came back I had sold 4 or 5 things! I also learned that presentation is very important in drawing people over to your table (especially when your table is kind of out of the way as it is). So I'm making plans for next time (which will be momocon). Some of it involves Portal...in a very strange way.

Oh! And guess what!!! LittleKuriboh was there!!! I had no idea cause he wasn't listed as a guest in the program book, nor did he have any panels, but sunday the made a loudspeaker announcement of "LittleKuriboh, please come to the staff table." (and apparently he didn't show up because it was followed a few minutes later with "LittleKuriboh, your car is being towed. And it's a very nice car." Turns out he was in the dealers room...dressed as Bakura! I actually bought a shirt from the booth he was with - they had Yugioh abridged shirts, VGcats shirts, Portal shirts...it was awesome! But he was standing right there and I had no idea it was him!! In fact I almost talked to him, I was ironically going to make a yugioh abridged joke. Dang. >_<

So anyway, I got a companion cube shirt, a figure of Tidus from Dissidia, and a Xaldin button, and a Bahumet (however it's spelled) keychain. Oh, and enough money to buy a DS and a copy of 385/2 Days! So excited!!
