So here's my steampunk gun. It started it's life as an ordinary, brightly-colored dollar store water gun, and now several coats of spray paint, markers, stickers, and acrylic later, it's a spiffy-looking steampunk weapon!

I can't wait for Dragoncoooooooon!!! X3

Nope. If you coat it in clear varnish (the kind that you brush on, not the spray kind) you'll be good to go.

I took an old brush and some black gouache and basically scrubbed it into the cracks and wiped off the excess. This will totally ruin your brush though! I prefer shoe polish now, but you could use any black/brown paint. I bet you could even use charcoal powder if you sealed it with crystal clear after...huh I'll have to try that actually!
